Jamila Romero, Author and Owner of Lofty Stories LLC is an Award Winning Educator, Author, Wife, and Mother. As an educator, Jamila witnessed the lack of representation for those of color in children’s literature. Accordingly, her self-publishing book company Lofty Stories, was developed to empower, uplift, and inspire by providing diverse representation with embedded educational components, as evident within her first children’s book series, A to Z Affirmations. In this first series which includes A to Z Black Girl Affirmations, A to Z Black Boy Affirmations, and A to Z Children Affirmations you will find amazing children’s books that not only teach the alphabet but extend vocabulary through affirming adjectives while promoting dialogue and self-reflection through interactive questions. Jamila is a proud alumna of George Washington University, George Mason University, and the University of Southern California where she holds multiple degrees in Education, Psychology, and Sociology. She currently lives in the DMV with her supportive husband (editor), adorable son, and beloved Yorkie.
